Kollam based Sree Narayanaguru Open University will accept online application till November 15 for first batch admission. In the first phase there are 5 BA programs and 2 MA programs.
BA Courses:
Language and Literature: Malayalam, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Arabic: 3 years/6 semesters. Those who have passed plus two can apply.
MA Courses: English Language and Literature: 2 years/4 semesters. Graduates can apply. Must have English paper at graduate level. Malayalam, Language and Literature: 2 years/4 semesters. Graduates can apply. There is no minimum mark requirement. A semester is 18 weeks. One credit requires 30 hours of prior study.
∙Courses Starting Later:
∙BA: Economics, Philosophy (Specialization in Srinarayanaguru Studies), Sociology. ∙BCom, BCA, BBA.
∙MA: History, Sociology: Admission to any degree holders.
∙MCom: Admission to BCom/BBA/BBM/Equivalent qualification.
∙Fees: BA: 17,630, MA: 14,770. For following courses: BCom: 23,630. BBA/BCA: 27,230. MCom: 18,770. In addition, all have to pay a recognition fee of Rs.350. Scheduled and OEC categories have fee free provisions. If the application is rejected, the fee paid will be refunded. Fees can be paid online only.
∙Application : You can apply online as per the instructions on the website. The procedure for submission of application is in the Apply for Admission link on the site. A printout of the online application should be sent to the concerned regional centre. Completion certificate can be generated online after submission of application. This certificate will contain the date on which you have to reach the concerned regional center and prove the original documents. Printout of application, certificates, fee receipt, original and copy of Aadhaar or other ID and original TC should be shown. Documents will not be purchased. Admit card signed by Regional Director will be issued after verification of documents is satisfactory.
Those who are employed can also get admission. The Degree/Diploma/Certificate of this University shall be equivalent to the qualifications of other UGC-recognised Universities. There are no study centers outside Kerala. 3 year diploma holders are not admitted to undergraduate courses. Normally the major is not transferable.
